Video Conferencing Network Architecture
Media Network Services (MNS) provides video conferencing network services built on a technology architecture optimized for high-quality to High Definition (HD) and Telepresence.
The MNS architecture consists of two main components:
- A traffic redirection interface
- A guaranteed-capacity wide-area network
Traffic Redirection Software for Video Conferencing
The redirection software is integrated with the communication endpoints. It is either provided as a plug-in to the client application or deployed as the customer premises equipment provided as part of the MNS subscription. The redirection software authenticates the user with the nearest MNS Point of Presence (PoP) and redirects the selected network traffic to that PoP.
Guaranteed-Capacity Wide-Area Network for Video Conferencing
Once the data packets reach the PoP, they are in the MNS network. Data are transported as far as possible toward the receiver using our guaranteed-capacity links. MNS rents and operates a growing number of international private lines with sufficient bandwidth capacity to guarantee its customers congestion-free communication channels.
The figure below illustrates how the video conferencing data is directed between clients’ LAN, ISPs, Transport providers, and MNS’ network of PoPs.
