Frequently
Asked Questions
What
is Media Network Services?
Media Network Services
(MNS) is a young company providing an enhanced data transport
service in the Internet. MNS maintains a global virtual
network, and provides a subscription-based service to
its customers.
Why
should I consider using MNS?
Because your applications
will experience less packet loss than when using standard
Internet routing as well as a stable, low latency.
Which
services are available?
MNS is currently deploying and testing
its services. A video conferencing network service will
be available in fall 2008. Please contact us if you would
like to be a test customer.
Do
both myself and my peer need to be MNS customers in order
to use its services?
No, it is sufficient that one of
the peers is an MNS customer.
I
am an Internet Service Provider. Should I peer with MNS?
Yes. The free-of-charge
peering with MNS will
- Help
your customers achieve a better network performance,
and
- Offload
parts of the heavy video traffic from your network,
which you otherwise have to pay your ISP to transport.
Peering traffic with MNS is normally strictly balanced.
