OSLO, NORWAY and SYDNEY, AUSTRALIA – SEPTEMBER 20, 2011: Media Network Services (MNS), the global leading provider of network services for HD video conferencing between arbitrary and B2B destinations, today announced the launch of its network Point of Presence (PoP) in Sydney, Australia.

The new network service in Australia revolutionizes the way in which overseas businesses can communicate with businesses in Australia, and vice versa. While HD video conferencing traditionally requires dedicated MPLS links between the calling parties as Internet is too unreliable for long distance HD calling, MNS enables HD calling to arbitrary and B2B destinations anywhere in the world.

Hans Fredrik Johansen, CEO of MNS, comments:
“We see the launch of MNS’ latest PoP in Sydney as a game changer. A game changer for Australia as it will be far easier for domestic companies to conduct business over HD video conferencing with overseas offices, clients and partners. And a game changer for the video conferencing industry providing services to clients in Australia and elsewhere as it has never been easier, faster and more flexible to deploy a global video conferencing solution.”

How does it work?
MNS’ global video conferencing network service combines the reach of Internet with a carrier grade network. Through peering arrangements with local Internet Service Providers (ISPs) available in all regions, MNS is a perfectly peered mediator for HD video conferencing across networks. With network PoPs all around the world, clients enter and exit the global Quality of Service (QoS) network at their optimal location over Internet or with a dedicated link for end-to-end QoS.

Businesses in Australia can subscribe to MNS’ global network service and connect to MNS PoP in Sydney using their standard Internet business connection provided by their local ISPs. MNS provides its global network service through resellers on all continents. Contact your video service or network provider for access to MNS’ global network service.

OSLO, NORWAY – May 24, 2011: Media Network Services (MNS) today announced the latest US additions to its Global Video Conferencing Network. The new Core Points of Presence (PoPs) located in Atlanta, New York, and Los Angeles, together with the 54 existing PoPs worldwide, enable clients to reliably place HD video calls to arbitrary video endpoints connected to the Internet.

The setup of the additional PoPs in the United States comes as a direct result of the growth MNS experience in the North American market.

“People turn to MNS when they experience that open Internet is not reliable for B2B and global HD quality video conferencing. They want to have the best of two worlds; the reach of Internet and the HD quality that they only experience on their internal closed MPLS networks. MNS combines those two worlds enabling organizations to call arbitrary destinations in HD quality”, says Hans Fredrik Johansen, CEO of MNS.

MNS’ Global Video Conferencing Network combines the reach of Internet with a carrier grade network. Through peering arrangements with local Internet Service Providers (ISP) available in all regions, MNS is a perfectly peered mediator for HD video conferencing across networks.
OSLO, NORWAY and READING, UK – May 11, 2011: Media Network Services (MNS) and Touchline Video today announced Touchline Video to become a distributor of MNS’ Global Video Conferencing Network Service.

Touchline Video, distributor of LifeSize and Mirial video conferencing solutions, will with MNS enable their resellers across the UK to provide video conferencing solutions with network-out-of-the box supplied by MNS. Resellers get the immediate benefit of faster deployments as video endpoints only need to be connected to the Internet and clients get the benefit of a maximized HD video conference experience to arbitrary destinations worldwide (internally, externally and B2B).

“We are very excited about the opportunity to provide our resellers and their clients a global network service that not only will enhance the experienced video quality compared to the average video call, but that also will extend the reach of HD video conferencing to B2B and arbitrary destinations while using Internet as last mile”, says Barry Cross, Managing Director of Touchline Video.

“We are honored to have Touchline Video become a distributor of MNS and believe our network-out-the-box will speed up the sales and deployment process for Touchline Video’s resellers and provide them with the competitive edge of guaranteeing their clients a maximized HD experience when calling customers, partners, vendors and suppliers anywhere in the world. After all, the experienced video quality is only as good as the network, and our commitment to take full ownership of the network quality between arbitrary video conferencing endpoints addresses this challenge”, says Hans Fredrik Johansen, CEO of MNS.

MNS’ Global Network is dedicated to video conferencing, combining the reach of Internet with a carrier grade network. MNS’ Global Network is provisioned by multiple international carriers in a meshed network topology offering full redundancy and has 50+ Points of Presence around the world with peering arrangements with most local ISPs.

OSLO, NORWAY – July 1st, 2010: Media Network Services (MNS) today announced the appointment of Hans Fredrik Johansen as the company’s Chief Executive Officer.

Since the establishment in 2007, MNS has revolutionized the way businesses can deploy and experience HD video conferencing with its patented video conferencing routing technology and global network. The appointment of Hans Fredrik Johansen as the company’s CEO is a long planned promotion and important for the next phase of the company’s growth and expansion.

Hans Fredrik Johansen joined MNS in May 2009 as Vice President of Sales & Marketing and has transformed the business from an R&D organization to a customer focused company with well defined product lines and a clear channel strategy.

The Chairman, Dr. Haakon Bryhni, said in a statement, “Hans Fredrik Johansen has been at the heart of the company’s strategy and expanded our presence in Europe, USA and Asia in the recent year, including China, where we recently were announced official suppliers to the Shanghai Expo 2010 together with TANDBERG.”

Bryhni added, “I am delighted Hans Fredrik Johansen has accepted the role of CEO. I have worked closely with Hans over the year and I am confident he has all the necessary talent, energy and experience to take the company forward. He will lead an outstanding team who represent the most innovative and knowledgeable video network experts in the video conferencing industry”.

Bryhni is stepping down as the CEO of MNS but will continue to be involved by focusing on MNS’s alliance partners and on key R&D initiatives, while continuing to be a valuable asset in the overall development of the company.

“In MNS we combine our passion for video conferencing with our unique competence in IP routing. We believe MNS with our neutral position between vendors, network providers and video service providers is the missing piece to expand the video conferencing market and open for mass deployment of HD video equipment on any desktop or meeting room,” says Hans Fredrik Johansen, CEO of MNS.

With the TANDBERG Telepresence videoconferencing infrastructure powered by Media Network Services, the whole Norway Expo 2010 team can stay in touch with their headquarters and offices throughout the world. The sponsors of Norway Expo 2010 will have access to all the facilities in the pavilion. The sponsors are Wilhelmsen, DNV, Statoil, Kongsberg Gruppen, Skaugen, Aker and Jotun. They can use the TANDBERG Telepresence systems to introduce Expo2010 guests to top level management and expert personnel throughout the world. Because the videoconferencing infrastructure is connected to Media Network Services’ managed video backbone users can enjoy a state of the art Telepresence experience from the Expo2010 in Shanghai to any corporate office on any corporate network around the world.

At Norway Expo 2010 in Shanghai we have faced challenges in regard to the capacity and reliability of the network for videoconferencing. We were delighted to get to know Media Network Services (MNS), a Norwegian company, founded on research and innovation and with support from us at Innovation Norway. MNS has gone straight into the network issues. They decrease the complexity and increase network quality so we can have video conferences with top quality from Shanghai to all our sponsors, internal and external relations says Arlid Blixrud Commissioner General Innovation Norway Shanghai.

In TANDBERG, now a part of Cisco, we are very proud to be the official supplier to Norway Expo 2010 in conjunction with Media Network Services. The way videoconferencing is a key part of the pavilion reflects TANDBERG’s vision of “the new way of working,” says Odd Johnny Winge, Vice President Infrastructure in the TelePresence Technology Group in Cisco.

The solution Media Network Services has deployed for Norway Expo 2010 is a great confirmation that our unique network model fills a need that all video conference users actually have, says Hans Fredrik Johansen, VP Sales and Marketing at Media Network Services. Norway Expo 2010 needed to reach videoconferencing systems in different parts of the world, at many different companies on different networks and in different organizations.

Because of the long distance, the internet is not an option and to order dedicated lines to Norway and possibly to other sites is too expensive and does not provide the desired flexibility. What Norway Expo 2010 needed was a network that delivered the quality and reliability equivalent to a dedicated MPLS intranet combined with the prevalence and availability of the internet. This was the only way they would be able to reach all their internal and external relations with the quality needed to maximize the benefit of videoconferencing, Hans Fredrik Johansen concludes.
